Established in 1736 and with an area of 306.5 square miles Augusta, Georgia is home to the Masters at Augusta golf tournament. Out of the four major golf championships the prestigious Masters Tournament is the only one that has been held at the same location every year since it started. Held at the exclusive Augusta National Golf Club the Masters began in 1934 and has showcased some of the most talented golfers in the world.

Bobby Jones, considered the most successful amateur golfer ever to compete on both national and international levels built the course with a golfers mindset and is a big reason behind the excitement felt leading up to and during the tournament.
Jack Nicklaus has dominated the course’s 18 holes, not only becoming the oldest player to win a Masters Tournament at age 46 in 1986, but currently holding the record for the most Masters Tournament wins with six.
More contemporary golfers have also left their mark at Augusta. Tiger Woods was the youngest player to win a Masters tournament at age 21 in 1997, and also set the current record for the lowest 4 day total at 270 in 1997. Unfortunately Tiger Woods will not be playing in the Masters Tournament this year. He underwent back surgery earlier this week for a pinched nerve that has been hurting him for several months. Surely, this iconic golf legend will be a missed by many this year.
Although Tiger Woods will not be attending the tournament for the first time in 20 years, you can still look forward to the many neighborhoods and homes located within a 30-mile radius of the esteemed Masters Tournament in Augusta.
These properties include:

The Summit at Horse Creek and The Retreat at Storm Branch – located 15 miles away
