If you have been in the Evans, Georgia area, chances are you have seen a bit of road construction along William Few Parkway and Hardy McManus Road. Construction began in summer 2013 on a project that would extend the road past Riverwood Drive. After one year of inconvenient traffic, William Few Parkway now joins Hardy McManus Road at the intersection of Grace Baptist Church and Washington Road.
Hardy McManus Road has been closed since last September in order to allow construction of the William Few Parkway extension. During this hiatus, the road was realigned and the large curve near Wythe Drive was removed, creating a 3-way stop. After workers completed signs, guardrails, markings, and other safety items, Hardy McManus Road was reopened. The road is now fully operational, and traffic flow has been improved greatly.
Residents of Highgrove, located just off Hardy McManus Road in Evans, Georgia, can now rejoice. Construction is at an end. The new road adds convenience to their already great location, providing accessibility to a brand new shopping center and much more. In addition, the two-lane highway with center turn lane has improved school hour traffic jams. Not only do residents save time, but the roads are now much safer. Additional lights, roundabouts, sidewalks, and merging lanes have been installed giving the intersection a huge boost in safety ratings.
