November has absolutely flown by. This Thursday is Thanksgiving day, which means more food than you can handle, time spent and memories made with family, and maybe some late night shopping. We want you to enjoy every moment of this holiday no matter how you are spending it! Here are some things to keep in mind for the big Turkey Day:
Deciding to host the big meal in your home can be fun but daunting at the same time. There are so many things to clean, furniture may need to be shifted around, and where will you put all of the food? Take a deep breath and prioritize what really needs to be done. Toys and miscellaneous items can be picked up and stored in bedrooms or closets so they are not in the way. Consider adding a folding table in the dining room or living room with extra chairs so there is more space for everyone to sit. If you will have a kids table, lay out a large roll of paper in place of a tablecloth and make centerpieces with crayons to keep little ones entertained while they are waiting for the food. There are plenty of reasons to enjoy this day and it will all turn out great in the end!
Decor should be kept simple.
There is no need for decorative clutter with all of the food that will be passed around. A few small pumpkins or a short vase centerpiece will do the trick. Your guests will be there for food and quality time, not to judge your interior design skills. You will want to keep things simple so you can have a clean slate to start decorating for Christmas the day after!
Always be grateful.
If you’re hosting Thanksgiving this year, chances are you have a home of your own! That is a huge accomplishment and something that should never be taken for granted. So spend time with loved ones and make memories that will be brought up around the table next year. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday!
