Spring is quickly approaching, which means the area will be in full swing with fun events. Even though it is still cold and dreary outside, we wanted to let you know about future events in Columbia County that you can plan to attend.
Community Blood Drive
Shepeard Community Blood Center will be holding a mobile community blood drive on Thursday, February 28 beginning at 10:00 AM. The bloodmobile will be located behind the Emergency Operations Center on Ronald Reagan Drive. Food will be provided by Firehouse Subs and donors can enter to win a Texas Roadhouse gift card.
Columbia County Farmers Market
The Farmers Market began last year in Columbia County and was a hit! It will be returning with the first event on Thursday, March 7 at Evans Towne Center Park. Visitors can enjoy food trucks, beverage tents, live entertainment, local artisans, kid’s fun and more. The Market will take place weekly throughout the season.
Saturday Cinema
On Saturday, March 9, Evans Towne Center Park will host a free Saturday Cinema event. There will be a movie played on the lawn (movie TBA) as well as food trucks and children’s play areas.
Columbia County Career & College Expo
The Columbia County Chamber of Commerce will be hosting a career & college expo for students and their parents to be educated on local career opportunities and paths to successful employment. It will take place on Tuesday, March 4 at 4:00 PM at the Columbia County Exhibition Center in Grovetown.
Family Movie Night
Liberty Park Community Center in Grovetown will host a free family movie night under the stars on Friday, March 22 at 6:00 PM. “Zootopia” is the feature presentation and there will also be food trucks and concession vendors.
Paddle Into Spring
The beautiful Mistletoe State Park in Appling will be welcoming the spring season on Saturday, March 23 at 2:00 PM with an afternoon of kayaking and canoeing. Rentals are available if you do not have your own. Admission will be $15 and a parking fee for the park is $5.
