There is always something to do in the Garden City. Whether you are new to the area or have been a long-time resident, there are exciting events coming up to start the spring season. Take a look at what we have on our calendar:

 

Cookin’ for Kids Oyster Roast

Augusta Aviation (Daniel Field Airport) on Highland Avenue will host the 14th annual Cookin’ for Kids Oyster Roast on March 9 at 6:00 PM. Enjoy all-you-can-eat oysters, sides, desserts, and unlimited beer and wine. Tickets are $50 and proceeds benefit local victims of child abuse, neglect and exploitation through Child Enrichment Inc. There is also a live auction and musical entertainment.

 

For King & Country “Burn the Ships” World Tour

Two-time Grammy award winners for King and Country will be bringing their talents to the Bell Auditorium on March 8 at 7:00 PM. The inspirational Christian duo is replacing their high-energy show with a more intimate theater setting. The concert is sponsored by WAFJ and tickets can be found here.

 

Children’s Hike with Story Time

On March 10 from 9:30-11:30 AM, children from toddlers to age 8 and their parents can enjoy a nature hike designed specifically for kids at Phinizy Swamp Nature Park. Admission is $2 and accompanying adults are free. Children will enjoy a story before and after their hike and experience nature first-hand.

 

4H Yoga in the Park

Another fun event for kids to enjoy at Phinizy Swamp Nature Park is 4H Yoga. It will be hosted on Saturday, March 16 at 9:00 AM and admission is free! The class is low pressure and fun for kids and adults of any level.

 

Winter Jam Tour Spectacular

On Thursday, March 21, the James Brown Arena will hold the annual Winter Jam Tour Spectacular. This is Christian music’s largest annual tour and features big music names such as Newsboys United and Grammy winner Mandisa, along with a large lineup of others. Admission is just $15 at the door and the event begins at 7:00 PM.

 

5th Annual Trillium Trek

The Central Savannah River Land Trust will hold their 5th annual Trillium Trek on Saturday, March 23 beginning at 10:00 AM. It is a guided hike on Greystone Preserve in North Augusta in search of the endangered Relict Trillium plant.
