While pumpkin patches and corn mazes may be the first to come to mind when thinking about fall activities, visiting an apple orchard is also a fun and popular thing to do during the season. Here are a few places within a day trip to go for apple picking:

Bryson’s Apple Orchard, Mountain Rest, South Carolina

If you’re up for a roughly 3 hour drive, head up to Mountain Rest for u-pick apples along the Blue Ridge Mountains. Visit their website here for more information and features to expect during your visit.

Chattooga Belle Farm, Long Creek, South Carolina

Another 3 hour drive for apple picking can take you to Long Creek, South Carolina for the beautiful Chattooga Belle Farm. They offer u-pick, disc golf, a distillery on site (wink, wink, grown-ups!) and beautiful views. You can visit their website here for additional details.

BJ Reece Orchards, Ellijay, Georgia

If you don’t mind a little bit longer of a drive, BJ Reece Orchards is just under 4 hours away from the Augusta area. Enjoy the u-pick orchard, petting zoo, wagon rides, cow milking and more! Their season runs through October 31 and admission ranges from $2-5 depending on which day you go.

Skytop Orchard, Flat Rock, North Carolina

North Carolina sounds far away, but this fun orchard takes less than 3 hours to get to. They have a large variety of apples to pick, hayrides, a playground area, fresh apple cider donuts and more. Admission is free, but you will be charged for picking apples. See more details and information here

Justus Orchard, Hendersonville, North Carolina

Every weekday from 8:30am-5:00pm (6:00pm on weekends), you can pick your own apples in the lovely North Carolina mountains. Weekends also include a giant jumping pillow, cow train, farm animals, and hot BBQ. Click here for all the information you need on planning a visit.
