If you live in the South Augusta area, you have probably wondered where you can sit down and relax while your kids play. The kids need to release their energy in an open area away from your fragile stuff!

Lucky for you, there are more than a couple of places to take your child or for you to unwind and get outdoors!

Woodlake Park: A Tiny but Gorgeous Park

Our first park is a small one just outside of South Augusta. Woodlake Park is a lovely, nature-filled park in a small, safe neighborhood.

With the glorious wilderness of South Augusta surrounding the playground area and the park’s proximity to the road, it’s a great place to supervise children. At the same time, you catch up on the latest episodes of your favorite show or do some reading in nature.

Phinizy Swamp Nature Park: The Most Unique Park in Augusta

Time for a large one! This park has wildlife, trails, a playground area, and beautiful views! Phinizy Swamp Nature Park is a great place to take photos, exercise, or admire nature.

And what makes this park unique is that it’s in the heart of a swamp! And it’s the perfect retreat away from the busy city life of Augusta. It’s perhaps the best park in Richmond County!

Elliot Park: Two Playgrounds in One!

If your goal is to take children somewhere to play, this park is the place for you!

Meadowland Park: A Park with a Wide Field

If you’re a runner, soccer, or football player, you’ll love this park! It is only four miles away from Town and County Park. And it has a nice playground set for pre-k to 3rd-grade children.

However, it also has a vast, open field where you and your friends can play a sport of your choosing. Or where you sit down on a towel and read a book. Or look up at the clouds with your child and try to make out what shape the clouds are in!

MM Scott Park: A Lovely, Mid-Size Neighborhood Park
