Do you live in Aiken, South Carolina or are looking to visit Aiken? Are you looking for something fun to do? This season, Aiken is in full gear with fun events for the whole family to enjoy. Take a look at what they have going on:

 

RJ Bednez Exhibit

Beginning March 1, the Aiken County Visitors Center will host RJ Bednez for their monthly art exhibit. They showcase a different local artist each month, so be sure to check them out. Visitors can stop by Monday-Friday from 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM and Saturdays from 10:00 AM – 3:00 PM.

 

Friday Night Piano with John Vaughn

Famed pianist John Vaughn will be sharing his talents every friday evening at 6:00 PM in March at the Willcox. It is the perfect date night to enjoy a delicious dinner and entertainment.

 

Aiken County Farmers Market

The Aiken County Farmers Market is open year-round on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays from sunrise until noon. It is located on Williamsburg Street between Park Avenue and Richland Avenue. Visitors can enjoy baked goods, crafts, and fresh local produce.

 

Trivia Nights

WingPlace off of East Pine Log Road hosts a trivia night every Monday at 7:00 PM. On Tuesdays, head to Mellow Mushroom on Bee Lane beginning at 8:00 PM. Pizza Joint on Richland Avenue West hosts trivia on Wednesdays beginning at 7:00 PM. Form a team with friends and enjoy great food any of these nights!

 

Painting Club

The Aiken County Public Library hosts a painting club every Wednesday at 2:00 PM led by local artist Dale Keene. The class is free, but registration is required by calling or visiting the library.

 

Salsa Night at Rose Hill

The Rose Hill Restaurant on Greenville Street NW presents Salsa Night on Saturday, March 9 at 9:00 PM. The restaurant will open for dinner reservations beginning at 6:00 and dancers can stick around to enjoy latin music and dancing.

St. Patrick’s Day at Rose Hill

Another great event in March at Rose Hill Restaurant will be an early St. Patrick’s Day celebration on Saturday, March 16 at 5:00 PM. The restaurant will serve Irish food and live music by Gavin Winship. Wear your green and enjoy the evening!

 

Aiken’s Bacon and Brews

On March 16 at 6:00 PM, the Newberry Street Festival Center will hold Bacon and Brews. Admission is free and live entertainment will be provided by Tokyo Joe.

 

Aiken Spring Steeplechase

This is probably Aiken’s most famous event each year. Residents and tourists pour in to the historic city for one of the south’s most popular horse races and enjoy tent parties, vendors and concessions. The Steeplechase will be Saturday, March 23 with gates opening at 9:00 AM. There are various tiers of tickets, so be sure to check out their website for more information.
